Transparency
Everything about how this project works, how money flows, how governance operates, and how you can verify it yourself.
The Mission
The Diamond Project is a community-driven, community-governed jewelry initiative. For every follower we gain, we commit to setting a diamond into a real piece of jewelry. Verified artisan jewelers submit designs, the community pledges diamonds earned from purchases, and funded designs get produced. Every dollar is tracked. Every decision is transparent.
How Pricing Works
We believe you should know exactly where your money goes. Here's the full breakdown:
Jewelry Pricing
Jewelry is priced to cover material costs, labor, diamonds, and a management fee. The management fee sustains project operations.
Merch Profit → Diamond Fund
All profit from merchandise (stickers, apparel, etc.) goes into the diamond fund to purchase more stones.
Shipping = Cost
Shipping charges on diamonds are part of the actual cost of acquiring each stone. We don't mark up shipping.
Example Breakdown
Say a piece has 27 diamonds that cost $27 total, and the jeweler charges $200 labor with $150 in metals. The community pledges diamonds to fund the total cost ($377). Since 1 diamond pledge = $1 of funding, the design needs 377 diamond pledges to reach its threshold. Once funded, the piece is crafted and listed in the store — or converted to a giveaway if the community pledges enough.
The Diamond Fund
The diamond fund is tracked in dollars. Revenue from sales, merch profit, and direct funding all feed into the same pool.
Standard 1mm diamonds are the backbone of the project — one per follower. When a jeweler's design calls for larger accent stones, those are purchased from the same fund at their actual cost. Larger diamonds may cost $3, $50, or even hundreds per stone depending on size and quality. Every purchase is logged publicly so you can see exactly what was bought and what it cost.
Materials & Lab Diamonds
Every product page clearly states the materials used. We use both natural and lab-grown diamonds depending on the piece and the jeweler's design.
Mined diamonds. Cost varies by size and quality. No special label needed.
Lab-created diamonds are clearly marked with a blue "LAB" badge on every product page. Same sparkle, different origin — always disclosed.
Metals used (gold, silver, platinum, etc.) are always specified on the product page.
How Jewelry Is Made
Artisan Submits a Design
Verified artisans submit original designs with their labor rate, material costs, diamond count, and metal type. Designs are reviewed and go live in the Studio once approved.
Community Pledges Diamonds
The community pledges diamonds (earned from the profit on purchases and from direct funding) to designs they want to see built. Each design has a funding threshold.
Design Gets Funded
When a design reaches its funding threshold, pledges lock and the piece moves to production. The artisan is notified and paid at the rate they set.
Production
The artisan crafts the piece. Diamonds and metals are purchased at cost from the diamond fund.
Listed or Giveaway
Completed pieces are listed in the store. If the community pledges enough post-production diamonds, the piece converts to a giveaway instead — awarded in a provably fair draw.
Provably Fair Giveaways
Every giveaway uses cryptographic commitments so you can verify the results yourself. Nobody — not even us — can manipulate the outcome after the seeds are locked.
Before the giveaway
We generate a secret server seed and publish its SHA-256 hash. This commits us to that seed before anyone enters.
When entries close
A client seed is locked from a Bitcoin block hash — a public, unpredictable source of randomness that neither we nor participants can control.
Drawing the winner
The server seed is revealed. Combined with the client seed and the entry list, anyone can replay the exact elimination sequence to confirm the winner.
Verify It Yourself
Every completed giveaway page shows the full verification data: server seed hash, revealed server seed, client seed (Bitcoin block hash), and a JavaScript snippet you can run yourself to replay every elimination round and confirm the winner.

Full honesty: here's how the project sustains itself.
The management fee only applies to jewelry product sales — not merch, not direct funding. Every purchase earns you diamonds based on profit: direct funding earns 1 diamond per $1 (after processing fees), merch earns diamonds on the profit margin, and jewelry earns diamonds on profit after production cost, the management fee, and payment processing fees. Use diamonds to pledge on designs in the Studio.
Questions? Concerns? We're an open book.
